Weekly Summer Camps run from Monday, June 17th – Friday, August 23rd.

The cost of each half-day camp is $100. *Half-day camps during the July 1st – 5th week cost $60 as we are closed July 4th & 5th.

*Grade levels indicated for each summer camp below are for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year.

Materials and instruments for all camps will be provided by the MAC.

Week One: June 17 – June 21

9 am – 12 pm camps:

3D Art Camp (1st – 4th grade) – In this introductory art camp, youth will use various three-dimensional artistic mediums, including clay, paper, cardboard, and more to create fun and unique works of art. / Instructor: Amy Pirozok

Marimba Camp (1st – 5th grade) – Youth in this introductory music camp will learn the basics of the marimba. Through basic music theory education, members will learn simple warm-up exercises and some fun songs to play as an ensemble. / Instructor: Nathan Martini

Photography Camp (2nd – 7th grade) – Get ready to take some great photos! In this camp, youth will use the MAC’s DSLR cameras to take photographs and edit them. Youth will take several short field trips to some photo-favorite locations. No photography experience required! / Instructor: Kade McKeever

1 – 4 pm camps:

Piano Camp (1st – 4th grade) – A great introductory music camp for youth. Through fun activities, youth in this camp will learn the basics of piano, including simple music theory, proper fingering, and they’ll learn some fun songs to play. / Instructor: Nathan Martini

3D Printing Camp (4th – 9th grade) – Youth ready to use their imaginations will have a great time exploring what’s possible in this creative camp. Through our 3D printer and printing programs, youth will be able to design and build unique objects. / Instructor: Eddie Corona

Abstract Art Camp (1st – 5th grade) – In this camp, youth will use their personalities to create art that is unique to them. Using a variety of artistic mediums, youth will work on introductory projects that are open to their artistic interpretation. / Instructor: Sara Delgado



Week Two: June 24 – June 28

9 am – 12 pm camps:

Guitar Camp (2nd – 6th grade) – Get ready to strum! Youth in this camp will learn the basics of guitar, including how to play several popular chords, how to play various rhythms, and members will learn some fun, introductory music to play as well. / Instructor: Nathan Martini

Mix It Up! Art Camp (1st – 4th grade) – Forget what you know about traditional art! In this introductory camp, we’re throwing out the teacher’s guide, and youth will be able to use multiple mediums and artistic techniques to make one-of-a-kind art pieces. Painting, coloring, gluing, 3D – anything goes for this camp! / Instructor: Amy Pirozok

Video Game Design Camp (2nd – 8th grade) – Youth who have a passion for video games will feel right at home with this camp. Through our basic video game design program, Scratch, youth will be design and create their own games on computers. Build something off a template, or start from… scratch! Your only limit is your imagination. / Instructor: Eddie Corona

1 – 4 pm camps:

STOMP Camp (1st – 6th grade) – In this high-energy camp, youth will learn how to make music and grooves with large and small household items. From using a trash can and lid to keep the beat, to sweeping a broom to create unique sounds and more, youth will learn how to play and perform together in unexpected ways. / Instructor: Nathan Martini

Digital Art Camp (3rd – 9th grade) – In this camp, youth will use computer programs to create works of digital art. Learn how to make art using pixels, manipulate and combine existing pictures, add filters to images, and more. Whether you want to create an image of a laser-beam-shooting-dinosaur in space, create a colorful digital checkerboard, or anything in-between, this camp is sure to unlock your creativity! / Instructor: Kade McKeever

Sculpting Camp (1st – 5th grade) – Youth ready to get their hands dirty will love this creative camp. Using clay, water, paint, and more, youth will build and sculpt their own masterpieces. Youth will also learn some important art principles, including balance, proportion, harmony, and more. / Instructor: Sara Delgado

5 – 8 pm camps:

Teen Art Studio Camp (6th – 12th grade) – A perfect camp for teens who want to work on artistic projects in a more open environment. In this camp, teens will pick and choose the project(s) they would like to work on and they will be provided with all the materials they need. Whether it’s painting their own skateboard deck, creating graffiti art, or anything in-between, teens will have the freedom to be their own artists. Our instructor will help guide and educate teens on their projects and artistic techniques to ensure they are achieving their vision. / Instructor: Kade McKeever



Week Three: July 1 – July 3 (Closed July 4 & 5)

9 am – 12 pm camps:

Fashion Design Camp Part 1 (4th – 10th grade) – In this morning & afternoon camp, youth will learn how to stitch, sew, design and make clothing and accessories, and more. This is the perfect camp for any up-and-coming designer who wants to create their own look. *This is an all day camp – youth must sign up for both the morning and afternoon time slots (a lunch break will take place between 12 – 1 pm). *Cost for this all-day camp is $120. / Instructor: Sara Delgado

Choir Camp (1st – 5th grade) – Youth who love signing will feel right at home in this camp as they take their vocal skills to a new level. Youth will learn the basics of proper singing technique as they learn several introductory choral warm-ups and some fun songs to sing as an ensemble. / Instructor: Tanis Mech

Digital Music Camp (2nd – 7th grade) – In this camp, youth will learn the basics of GarageBand to create their own music. Using loops, samples, patches, sound effects, drum beats, and more, youth will be able to create unique songs that can be saved and shared with others. / Instructor: Nathan Martini

Lego Robotics Camp (2nd – 7th grade) – Youth who love to build and create will be able to engineer and program their own robots in this camp. Using LEGO MINDSTORMS, youth can make their robots race, pick up and move objects, throw balls, complete intricate tasks, and more. A great camp for the up-and-coming engineer and builder! / Instructor: Eddie Corona

Hand Drumming Camp (2nd – 6th grade) – Youth who can’t stop drumming on the dinner table will love this hands-on camp! Youth will learn basic hand drumming grooves and how to improv in a drum circle setting. From playing as a small ensemble to performing solos, this is a great camp for youth who love drumming and music in general. / Instructor: Nathan Martini



Week Four: July 8 – July 12

9 am – 12 pm camps:

Fun with Paint! Camp (1st – 4th grade) – Get ready to have some fun this week… with paint! In this introductory art class, youth will use paint to create colorful masterpieces. Youth will learn about different brush stroke techniques and basic art principles as they make fun projects come to life. / Instructor: Amy Pirozok

Website Design Camp (4th – 10th grade) – Youth will learn basic website coding and design in this technology-driven camp. Through WordPress, youth will learn how to layout and build their own live webpage, and they’ll understand the basics of html. / Instructor: Kade McKeever

Drum Line Camp (3rd – 9th grade) – In this intermediate music camp, youth will be able to take their drumming skills to an exciting level in the marching arts world. Youth will use a variety of drum line instruments to learn and play challenging rhythms, rudiments, exercises and grooves. / Instructor: Nathan Martini

1 – 4 pm camps:

YouTube Camp (3rd – 9th grade) – Internet lookout! In this camp youth will learn videography skills as they create fun (and appropriate) videos to post on YouTube. How does someone become a YouTube star? How can you make money on YouTube? How do you edit videos so they keep your audience engaged? This camp will answer these questions and more! / Instructor: Kade McKeever

Fashion Design Camp (1st – 6th grade) – In this introductory camp, youth will learn the basics of sewing and creating their own clothing. From drawing and designing their vision to embellishing pieces of fabric, this is the perfect class for the young fashionista! / Instructor: Sara Delgado

Week Five: July 15 – July 19

9 am – 12 pm camps:

Unicorns and Rainbows Art Camp (1st – 4th grade) – Unicorns, rainbows, and fairies, oh my! In this colorful and creative camp, youth who love fantasy will find their home. Youth will make artistic masterpieces focusing on fairy tale fun. / Instructor: Amy Pirozok

Drones & Virtual Reality Camp (4th – 9th grade) – Youth in this tech-forward camp will spend time understanding and flying drones and using VR headsets. Ever wondered what the Tri-Cities looks like from high above? What does it look like to ride the world’s tallest roller coaster? How close are the planets to each other? Through unique and engaging technology, youth will be able to experience the answers to these questions and more. / Instructor: Kade McKeever

Drum Set Camp (2nd – 7th grade) – In this camp, youth will learn the basics of playing the drum set. From learning about all the drums and cymbals, to understanding how to keep the beat and use independence between your feet and hands, youth will gain a stronger understanding of playing in a band and creating music on their own. / Instructor: Nathan Martini

1 – 4 pm camps:

Rock Band Camp (4th – 10th grade) – Calling all singers, guitarists, drummers, bassists, piano players, and more! Play an instrument? This camp is for you! In this small ensemble-based camp, youth will learn how to create and play music together. From writing your own songs to learning how to cover another song, this camp will be an exciting way to get introduced to being in a rock band! *All instruments/musicians are welcome, but youth must know how to play their own instrument. / Instructor: Nathan Martini

Messy Art Camp (1st – 6th grade) – Keep your nice clothes at home during this camp! Youth will certainly get their hands dirty as they create colorful art through a wide variety of messy techniques. From spin art to splatter paint and more, youth will have a blast getting messy and creative. / Instructor: Sara Delgado

Lego BattleBots (3rd – 8th grade) – Youth who can’t get enough of LEGOs will love this camp as they build BattleBots. Youth will program robots to move, spin, turn, juke, attack, and more. Throughout the camp, youth will work on their engineering and problem solving skills as they fine-tune their robots to their desired specifications. / Instructor: Eddie Corona

5 – 8 pm camps:

Graphic Design Camp (6th – 12th grade) – Ever wondered how to make a logo? Why some fonts are used more than others? What emotions are triggered by certain colors? In this camp, youth will learn the basics of graphic design and branding. Youth will use computers to create logos and unique graphics as they gain a stronger understanding of the meaning behind other images and logos they see every day./ Instructor: Kade McKeever



Week Six: July 22 – July 26

9 am – 12 pm camps:

World Drumming Camp (1st – 6th grade) – Get ready to travel the percussive planet this week. In this introductory music camp, youth will learn various drumming techniques and grooves from other countries. Youth will use hand drums, congas, tambourines, and other instruments to create fun music. / Instructor: Nathan Martini

5 – 8 pm camps:

Music Theory Camp (6th – 12th grade) – Youth looking for a more advanced music experience will be able to take their musical knowledge and skills to the next level in this camp. By gaining a stronger understanding of rhythms, melodies, harmonies, chords, rudiments, and more, youth will be able to improve their fundamental understanding of music and how that can be applied to their instrument. / Instructor: Nathan Martini



Week Seven: July 29 – August 2

9 am – 12 pm camps:

Videography Camp Part 1 (4th – 10th grade) – In this morning & afternoon camp, youth will learn how make their own short videos. Youth will come up with a concept, storyboard the shots, create costumes, shoot the video, edit everything together and premiere their production. *This is an all day camp – youth must sign up for both the morning and afternoon time slots (a lunch break will take place between 12 – 1 pm). *Cost for this all-day camp is $200. / Instructor: Kade McKeever

Create Your Own Comic Book Camp (1st – 5th grade) – Youth will be able to unleash their inner story teller in this artistic camp. Youth will draw and create their own characters and storylines as they design a short story in comic book style. A great camp for any young artist who has a desire to be the next Stan Lee! / Instructor: Eddie Corona

Marimba Camp (4th – 9th grade) – Youth in this intermediate music camp will learn more advanced playing concepts on the marimba, including an introduction to four-mallet technique. Through intermediate music theory education, members will learn several exercises and music to play as an ensemble. / Instructor: Nathan Martini

Messy Music Camp (3rd – 7th grade) – Ever heard of the Blue Man Group? 🙂 In this camp, youth will focus on making fun music with a twist. From creating splatter paint art while drumming on paint, to using paint-covered sound tubes to make circle art and more, youth who are interested in music and art will love this hands-on and messy camp. / Instructor: Nathan Martini

Organic Art Camp (1st – 5th grade) – In this camp, youth will learn how to create art with Mother Earth in mind. From using items found outside to recyclable materials, youth will create Earth-friendly art that may change your perspective on what art is and what items we can give a second-life to. / Instructor: Sara Delgado

Music Around the World Camp (1st – 4th grade) – In this camp, youth will learn about music from other countries. While focusing on a different country’s musical style each day, youth will learn to play various grooves, rhythms, and phrases that are prominent in those countries. Youth will end each day with a fun group song representing each country. / Instructor: Nathan Martini

Fiber Art Camp (1st – 6th grade) – In this camp, youth will use different fiber materials to create jewelry, home decorations, clothing accessories, and more. Youth will also be able to create art made from various fabrics. A great introductory camp for a future home or clothing designer! / Instructor: Sara Delgado

Video Game Design Camp (2nd – 8th grade) – Youth who have a passion for video games will feel right at home with this camp. Podcasting Camp (2nd – 8th grade) – Youth who love to talk and tell stories will enjoy this tech-driven camp. Throughout this camp, youth will record themselves having discussions on a variety of topics – movies, music, technology, current events, weekend plans, really anything! Youth will edit their recordings, add sound effects, and post them on iTunes for the world to hear. / Instructor: Eddie Corona

Concert Percussion Camp (4th – 9th grade) – In this intermediate music camp, youth will use a variety of concert percussion instruments to gain a stronger understanding of playing music in an ensemble. This is also a great opportunity to be exposed to a new instrument in the percussion world. Youth will be able to play marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, concert snare drums, cymbals, and more. / Instructor: Nathan Martini



Week Ten: August 19 – August 23

9 am – 12 pm camps:
